Winter PRACTICEs Fall / Spring Practices
As of winter 2024, the rentals are based out of the brand new Headcorders™ by the South Golf Course Trailhead, so we walk/bike to practice every weekday, and enjoy longer trips/races on weekends.
We often ski or van over to Garipay and Oak Hill Monday-Friday afternoons, with the occasional additional morning practice on Tues/Thurs or weekend practice (and of course the annual midnight midterm-szn meander). Oak Hill now has snowmaking! We usually split up into a couple groups, with the beginners getting a free lesson and the veterans going out for a fun ski or workout. Oak Hill is a beautiful venue for practice, with views of the upper valley and winding, wooded trails. |
In the fall, spring, and summer we try to get out on the ol' rollerskis every now 'n' then, hosting rollerski demos for beginners out of "Robo" (Robinson Hall)

winter RACING |
|
We race against other schools in the Eastern Collegiate Ski Conference (ECSC) of the USCSA, which is a fun community of other club teams and D3 varsity teams, so our NARP status is occasionally put in jeopardy, but consistent faceplant showings by a certain JD'25 keep these numbers low.
Racing is not a requirement for club members, but we welcome anyone who wants to try it. This last year we had serious high school club racers and brand new skiers come to the races, and all had fun! We also went to the East Coast regionals to qualify several skiers for USCSA nationals. For more racing information, you can find the ECSC's website here. |

Biathlon
|
Biathlon is now its own DOC sub club! However, we generally pool gear, so if you have a hankering to take some potshots at squirrels while skiing you can do it free of additional charge. We occasionally have a friendly Friday fun day showdown with biathlon, like a game of snow frisbee or sharks and minnows.
We often attend some of the Thursday Night Jericho Biathlon races during the winter terms, which are open to all skill levels and are super fun! Reach out to [email protected] with any questions, and especially any complaints! |
